Susan J. Helms
Susan Helms was selected as an astronaut in NASA's thirteenth class (1990).  During her career, she made five voyages into space.  Her first space flight came in 1993 when she served as a mission specialist on board STS-54.  She flew again in 1994 as a mission specialist on the STS-64 shuttle mission.  For her third space flight, she was given the assignment of serving as the payload commander for the STS-78 mission which flew in 1996.  After that, she flew on STS-101 in 2000 as a mission specialist.  Helms finished her career which a five month stay on the International Space Station when she flew as a flight engineer during the ISS Expedition 2 mission.  She was launched into space on board STS-102 in March of 2001 and did not return to earth until August when she landed with the STS-105 crew.  She retired in 2002 having logged almost 211 days in space.
