The Flintstones: Viva Rock Vegas is not prehysterically funny, but it’s still very, very good. A prequel to the The Flintstones; The Flintstones: Viva Rock Vegas tells the tale of how Fred and Barney met Wilma and Betty; how they wound up with Dino and how Fred and Barney met the alien Gazoo. Just as with the original cartoon itself The Flintstones: Viva Rock Vegas has enough silliness and visual gags to amuse the younger set while still putting in the sly dig at modern times that the adults can enjoy as well. The special effects, at first glance, seem crude, but that’s just part of their charm and they are actually quite good. All of the actors do first rate jobs, especially the fellow who plays Fred. He has the voice down so pat it’s almost eerie.
So Yabba, dabba do take your kids to see it. They’ll enjoy it and so will you.
