Scooby Doo in Arabian Nights

Scooby Doo in Arabian Nights Sad to say, but Scooby Doo in Arabian Nights is a dog. Actually, far worse then that, it’s a deliberate rip-off of Scooby Doo fans. The bulk of this ‘movie’ is actually made up of recycled Hanna Barbera cartoons that have nothing to do with Scooby Doo. The plotline, such as it is, involves Shaggy and Scooby Doo accepting jobs in a mid-eastern country as food tasters for the Sultan. Being the gluttons they are they don’t just taste the food they eat it all earning themselves a death sentence. Shaggy tries to delay their execution, a la Schelzerade, by telling the Sultan stories. Now if the stories framed by Shaggy’s story telling had been ghost stories involving Shaggy and Scooby Doo either with or without the rest of the gang that would’ve have been ok, but instead we get nothing but second hand Magilla Gorilla and Yogi Bear cartoons. None of the other Scooby Doo/Mystery, Inc. cast of Freddie, Velma, Daphne or even annoying little Scrappy Doo appear at all and even worse there are no ghosts, no witches and not a single creep in a mask during the entire production. If the producers wanted to recycle old material that's one thing, but using non Scooby Doo material under the Scooby Doo banner is inexcusable given how many old Scooby Doo cartoons are out there. Both Ashley and I were very disappointed and the people who put out this video should be ashamed of themselves. Bad Dog, Scooby! Bad Dog!
