Blue Water Carvers

We meet at Senior Center/Council for the Aging,600 Grand River Avenue,Port Huron,MI.48060.1st & 3rd Thursday of the month from 11am-1pm.All of our meetings are open and you do not have to join to carve with us.Everyone is welcome, beginner or expert. If you are interested in learning to carve or are just looking for someone to carve with we will be more than happy to assist in anyway we can.We also are a member club of the Michigan Wood Carvers Assn.

One thing we really like to do is demonstrations at local events when possible.Right now for the month of August,Paul has his carvings on display at the Armada Public Library. If your in the neighborhood please stop by to see them. Also this last April we had our carvings on display at the New Baltimore Library and we also spent a day demonstrating and answering questions to most receptive crowd of all ages.A great big thank you to the folks at the library for having us!You can see pictures of our displays by using the link in the upper left menu.

Another special day we had recently was at the John F. Farrell- Emmett Elementary school. We were invited to demonstrate carving as part of a Educational Fair where students were introduced to activities that they might be interested in pursuing as a lifelong hobby or profession. This was the 1st time in a setting like this for me where the kids were given a half hour per class to ask any question they wanted and ask they did!!!Hats off to everyone at the school for doing this for the students and asking us to participate. In my book this is called making a difference!!!
