What ever happened to the Background Mold?

First, in case you're wondering what on earth I'm talking about, I'll explain. Back in '97, when I was the most gung-ho graphics creator there was, I wanted to make my own free graphics giveaway site. BUT... I wanted to be different. So I made background graphics in shades of gray and gave people directions on how to modify them to make them any color they wanted. That way I was different, and everybody who used my backgrounds could be different as well. But alas, people didn't want to go to the trouble of making the backgrounds into custom colors. They just wanted to use my already-colored samples.

In the three years it was open, The Background Mold didn't get much business. Keeping it in my site, with the new design, would be more trouble than it's worth. The Background Mold is now officially defunct as of September 13, 2000. R.I.P.
