[last update: 10/14/00. I've missed a few seasons and have no idea how they've aquired a child the same age as gabby, so evidentally, this is old info. But good memories of the good ol' days :)]


The title (and following some information) was stolen from an article by Gina L. Dartt in the Jul/Aug 1997 issue of Wayves (A free gay Atlantic Canadian newspaper (check out their homepage)).

Xena: Warrior Princess can be seen atlantic canada on Saturday afternoons at 4:00pm on MITV (people elsewhere are gonna have to check their tv listings).

In answer to the question I'm sure most gay (heck, and everyone ELSE!) viewers are probably asking, ... umm... I have no idea. But Lucy Lawless (Xena) is married in real life (to a male) [Editors note: apprently that "is" should be a "was" .. according to another article I just read, she was divorced in 1995 and is now raising her 8year old daughter herself] (no idea about Gabrielle though). BUT! The Show's producer, Liz Freidman IS openly gay AND has admitted in interviews that the gay subtext is intentional (not that it could have been otherwise anyway).

Here are a few pictures and sounds from one of my favorite episodes, The Quest. In this episode, Xena is dead and Gabrielle is trying to bring her back. Xena inhabits her body to help her fight off the bad dude in the end. Here are the conversations around it: All WAVS are 11Khz, 8bit, mono.

GAB_MORN.WAV [203K] Gabriella tries to move on with her life.

XENADEAD.WAV [525K] Xena talks to a sobbing Gabriella from the afterworld to tell her she's not really dead. (This is the conversation that is taking place durring the pictures below). The silence at the end is where they kiss on the lips. I bet a few eyes widened the first time people saw THAT scene :)

XENA_GAB.WAV [399K] Gabriella talks to Xena after she's returned to her own body and everything is back to normal. To me the conversation seems to pretty much be Gabirella laying out the butch/fem groundwork for their relationship ... but then again, I think Pinky and the Brain are a gay couple. Hmm... that reminds me, maybe I should make some sounds for a Pinky & the Brain page as well, what do you think? [Editors note: That night, I did. Look here].
