Big Kenny, Kathy Mattea, Jo Dee Messina Preview Earth Hour Event
Big & Rich's Big Kenny, Kathy Mattea and Jo Dee Messina appeared at the Stage, a Nashville honky-tonk, on Thursday morning (Feb. 12) to preview the worldwide Earth Hour event. The third annual Earth Hour will take place on March 28 at 8:30 p.m. as businesses and citizens turn off non-essential lights for one hour as an action against climate change. The event is sponsored by the World Wildlife Fund. Other musicians who have pledged to turn off their lights during Earth Hour include Dierks Bentley, Vince Gill, Amy Grant, Lady Antebellum, SHeDAISY and Wynonna. Nashville mayor Karl Dean said all downtown businesses, including CMT and the Lower Broadway honky-tonks, will turn off their lights at the appointed hour in conjunction with numerous cities around the world. Hit-country trio SHeDAISY putting final touches on new 'A Story to Tell' CD
SHeDAISY, the country trio that comprises sisters Kristyn, Kassidy and Kelsi, were slated to preview new music from the groups upcoming CD on the Lyric Street label, A Story to Tell, for media folk next week, but seems they need to polish it a bit more.

"THE GIRLS ARE EXCITED to share their new music, however, they are still in the studio making some additions, and we want to wait until everything is complete to share the music, reported the acts PR rep today via e-mail.

Alas, this writers new music-listening plans for Thursday, Feb. 19, are now nixed. In the meantime, though,
according to message-board chatter, SHeDAISY fans remain all abuzz about the forthcoming disc, which will be the vocally blessed songbirds fifth offering.

IT'S BEEN AWHILE since radio and fans have heard new music from the Utah-reared Osborn sisters, whose harmonies are nectar. The last album of new songs that came our way from their direction was the March 2006 disc, Fortunetellers Melody, a dozen-song collection that featured 11 tracks co-written by Kristyn, the acts primary tunesmith.

Named for the Navajo term meaning my (little) sister," SHeDAISY and Lyric Street also unleashed a greatest-hits compilation, The Best of SHeDAISY, in 08 that featured some of their top-10 numbers, including  "Little Good-Byes," "This Woman Needs," "I Will But" and "Don't Worry 'Bout a Thing," among the CD's 12 tracks.

Expect A Story to Tell to make its entrance on the scene this spring, with more contemporary, harmony-laced country sounds that only SHeDAISY can deliver. ... Stay tuned. (
