Silver Centurion Armor
The Silver Centurion Armor

Silver Centurion. Chameleon Armor. Holographic Armor. Red and Silver Armor. Whatever you call it, Model VIII, Mark I, a combat-oriented armor, was built ostensibly as rehabilitation by the off the wagon/back on the wagon Stark. The armor may have been meant for Iron Man James Rhodes, but we may never know since Tony Stark took this model for himself when he went back into the super hero business.
The most obvious new design here is the stark departure from the traditional red and gold color scheme. The suit also has a fresh, fearsome cut to it, incorporating an inverted triangular design in the chest and back plates, angleing downward from the broad, crisp lines of the pointed shoulder pads. In addition, the new look sports a large, oversized, hooded helmet and a Triangular Chest Beam.

Of course not all of the improvements are cosmetic. The red and silver armor is highly efficient while integrating the most powerful suit motors Stark could create. The suit's computer matrices are also a vast improvement on prior models. Other upgrades include an improved refractory coating for the armor, and an added thermocouple that allows the armor to absorb energy for redirection at Iron Man's discretion. A six second Force Field provides extra protection.

The special feature on this suit: The so-called "chameleon effect," a device that allows Iron Man to blend into the background by projecting holograms of the background over the surface of the armor. Although it should be noted that Stark later removed the chameleon technology when the energy fields produced by it had a detrimental effect on his nervous system. (Stark will eventually add an improved, non-lethal hologram emmiter on future models.)

Armaments: Repulsors, Pulse Bolt gauntlet cannons, and a Disrupter Field that allows for the directed interference of electrical systems.
