Fallen Angel, 1978

TV-serial "Charlies Angels" is a story of adventures with three charming girls, who work at a private detective bureau. Kate Jackson, Farrah Fawcett and Jaclyn Smith played main parts here. In the episode, where Timothy Dalton appears as a guest star, these girls are catching pretty gonoph by name Roth, the well-known jewelleries hunter. It's amusing, that the gonoph in the movie has a strong resemblance to James Bond, as it's said about him in the "orientation", which our business girls had got to find and catch Timothy's hero.

Timothy Dalton harked back to his work in "Fallen Angel" in his radio-interview on March 9 in 1998:

" I learned a lot on that. Listen, I swear to you, it's absolutely the truth; I'd flown back to Europe to make a movie called - Flash Gordon - and I had about three weeks before starting. And I got a call the day after I arrived, saying, "Would you come and do a special on Charlie's Angels, with Farrah Fawcett?" And at that time, you know, Charlie's Angels was HUGE. I'd never done anything like this. And I thought, "yeah - why not?" I'll fit it in just before starting Flash Gordon. I tell you, we did that hour in about five days - I've never worked so hard, with so little rehearsal - and I learned a lot. And, let me tell you, those people that do those shows, you know, they're really, really good. You gotta be damned professional to do a show in five or six days."

Being a viewer, who has seen the only episode of the grandiose for those times "epic", I can say, this is a very light "looking", rather pleasant for your eyes and ears: youth, airiness, dynamic, but very simple plot - all creates a good mood, even if you feel all-overish.

As to participation of Mr. Dalton, he looks frightfully well here: winning the duel with spectacled cobra, he notably makes the scene where the precious brooch of opera diva becomes stolen But it seems to me, for example, that the scene of "criminal's arresting" with the elements of East single fights on the roof of large council house made not so good in comparison with the one on the controlled plate in the movie "Flash Gordon". And, certainly, Timothy of those days must work very hard and come through trials before he will make the one James Bond!
