This is one of Timothy Dalton's few films, when after seeing I could
say, that I was left completely untouched by the events on the screen. Probably, here, in Russia, we
can't understand some hidden problems, which are interesting and exciting for the film's authors.
As for me, the episodes from bohemia's life in American
province and in New York are looking like a kaleidoscope of habitual stale devices. Even, this
should seem original appearance of Whoopy Goldberg, a very talented and the one of my favourite
actresses, in the small part of coming alive mask nearby the theatre entrance seemed to be captured
from J.Cocto's "The Beauty and the Beast", brilliantly made by him away back in 1947.
Timothy Dalton in a small supporting role of a flourishing artist
Elliot Price is beautiful, charming and attractive, but for me - things are looking grim, because
the playwriter and director don't use here even one tenth of that, Timothy could show as an actor!
