Chairman KERMIT.

Sat Churmet-Dazhi (Tuvan: Gyrmit Tazi; 1894 - 1938) was Chairman of the
Council of Ministers from 1929 till February 1938. His solemn portrait can be
seen on this 1936 commemorative stamp, celebrating the 15th anniversary of
independence of the Tuvan People's Republic.

He was accused of being a 'counter-revolutionary' and 'Japanese spy'. Evidence
of guilt included some Japanese stamps in his stamp collection. He was tried
by a special court, sentenced to death, and shot. Sic transit gloria.
