What makes my heart skip and my soul ache?
Besides a sexy, intelligent man *G* -- Music. What kind? All kinds.
Rock. R&B. Pop. Dance. Techno. Classical. Disney. aLTerNatiVE. Some
Rap. But no country. Noooooooooo country.
Though at unique occasions, Shania Twain, LeAnn Rimes, Faith Hill, and
Garth Brooks arent bad.
Theres some unexplainable stir of emotions, which only the
ingenius composition of sound and thunder evokes. As I fill my little
room with the "Last of Mohicans" or "Braveheart" or "Dragon" soundtrack,
the spell is cast with the sad cry of long strings or the jubiliation of a
young, carefree flute.
If youve ever heard the music from "the Mission," you can picture a
long-limbed pixie gliding across the ice, speeding up to a trot, then
leaping and axelling. Thats the thing about music, especially
soundtracks from films: One can see the music. For instance, one
of my all-time favorite soundtracks is "Robin Hood: Prince of Thieves." I
loved that movie and when I listen to its music, Kevin Costner swings
around the big English oak, slamming a scoundrel off his horse. Then,
Lady Marian drifting through the fog looking longingly at Robin. Music is
not just about the listen, but also about the feel.
But then of course, youve got Techno and R&B and Pop and Rock, where
your foot starts tapping, then your head bobs, your body sways, hip
gyrates... To the untrained eye, you appear to be in an epileptic
seizure. It's music. Emotion aching through sound.
Meanwhile, Christine wonders why I didn't try for Broadway instead of
shrinking heads...
Anyhow :-) , here's some pretty cool lyrics that I snagged off the
album covers or I just guessed at.
