The Beginning

A long long time ago in the land of Eilian, harmony was all that anyone ever knew. Different groups lived together in union, each having their own opinion of the world and each respecting the others differences. Creatures of every kind lived in a peaceful gathering, enjoying life and living it to it's fullest. There was no single leader of Eilian, while each group had their own 'Leader', none deemed themselves ruler of Eilian and all were just and fair.

A fateful day occurred when an Eastern Dragon female named Edan gave birth to two eggs. While the dragon was hoping for only one egg to lessen her burden, she loved and cared for both as a mother should and would, the father Khaos long gone and never seen again. Many moons later the eggs hatched and siblings Erebos and Nyx were born. From the beginning Edan could see a tension between the two siblings, rivalry between brother and sister not unusual in her species. She continued to raise the two however as best as she could, but the day came when they two siblings came of age and acquired their powers. Edan was pleased to watch her daughter Nyx learn of her power of Light, the same power she herself carried. Erebos however, his power was that of darkness. Edan saw this as an ill omen and warned Nyx to watch after her brother for she saw not only the darkness of his power but the darkness that had began to grow within his heart.

Nyx took her brother into a new light and began to watch after him silently. It wasn't until the two were into adulthood that Erebos finally let his true colors shine.. It was an early morning, mist hung heavily against the earth. Nyx was off enjoying her freedom of adulthood, exploring new territories and meeting new faces. Erebos had also gone away to explore, returning early only to rant to his mother about how he loathed the creatures he considered 'furries' and why no one had risen up yet to show all of Eilian who exactly was leader and put those furred creatures in their places.

Edan was shocked and taken aback by her sons furiousness and gently warned him that anger and evil in his voice would only bring about destruction for his life and those around him. That his vendetta with furred creatures was unacceptable and wouldn't be tolerated by her nor any other creature of Eilian. Erebos' reaction was one of fury. He decided that no other would ever tell him what to do, no furred creature nor his own mother. He decided that the goodness was getting old and the fact everyone was living as equals had finally driven him off the edge. That early cool morning, Eilian had it's first murder sense it could ever remember. When Nyx returned, she found in horror her mother slain upon the lush green grasses that used to coat Arcelia's mountain sides; Erebos was nowhere to be found.
