Opertions
When it comes to operations The Walt Disney Company does a great job. They run with good efficiency throughout. The company has many employees that have to be directed and shuffled. Internally there is a teamwork atmosphere, a core value that the company believes in. The Walt Disney Company believes strongly in diversity. It has in place an internal organization known as R.A.V.E.(Respect Appreciate and Value Everyone), aiding the employees to work together and assisting operations to run smooth. Rigorous interviewing and pickiness as well as extensive training facilities are key to the success of the company. The Company and Parks have their own Disney University for learning. From the Theme parks end we see operational expenses increases as the operating income has decreased. This ties in to the whole post 9-11 economy for the industry.

The main strength however for this aspect of the company is the experience that Disney brings to the plate for operations. They have been in the business for long enough to understand how to operate successfully. The use and acquisition of resources in an effective manner are driving the company onward to the future. The company has done a great job in moving its operations and adapting them to the foreign markets, which it is continuously growing into. Innovation and engineering of its staff has created an advantage when it comes to running its Media and Parks/Resorts industries. Operational investments from its international projects are shared with the local governments cutting risk and strengthening resourceful ties.

The largest weakness of the company from an operations standpoint is the growth factor of its operations. Control is lost sometimes when you are trying to work with 120,000+ employees in four distinct divisions. This is not aided by the fact that the company keeps expanding into new niche markets.
