On 14th. and 21st. of Feb 1842, James was an executor and witnesses to the will of Harvey McGowan. They came to Ralls Co., MO in 1828, settling near Frankfort, Pike Co., MO, in the southern part of Ralls Co., where James was farming 280 acres in 1850.
