Dragon Ball is all about a young boy by the name of Goku. The character of Goku is based on an ancient Chinese mythological figure, the Monkey King. Goku was raised in deep in the forest. Anything he knows about everyday normal life was taught to by his grandfather Gohan. He was also taught the art of fighting by Gohan.

Buluma then tells Goku the legend of the Dragonballs: once all seven DragonBalls are found and collected, a fierce Dragon (Shen-Long) appears and the Dragon can grant you a wish. Goku has the fourth Dragonball witch he believes is the soul of his grandfather. In thier quest to find the Dragonballs Goku befriends Yamcha, Puaru, Oolong, Master Roshi, or the Kame Master, Chi-Chi and Ox King. Master Roshi is a very important character who teaches Goku and Krillun the art of Kame Senin.

Goku also makes powerful enemies such as Emporer Pilaf, the Red Ribbon army, and Picolo the Devil. The Red Ribbon Army, a powerful group of people who use artificial intelligence to create robots (androids). Picolo the Devil is the evil part of Kami Son. Picolo the devil dies but not before he layes the egg that is Picolo JR. (Picolo in DBZ). Dragonball ends at the 23rd Tenkaichi-Budoukai (World Class Martial Arts Tournament). At the tournament Picolo JR. tries to take over the world. Goku defeats him and after the tournament he marries Chi-Chi.
