The Bugaloos was a Saturday morning live show about a teen rock group. Only this rock group lived in a place called Tranquility Forest, which was the last of the British Colonys. They had wings and antenne (they were suppose to be bugs, hense the name, Bugaloos)and could not only fly, but sometimes rode on surfboards when they flew. There was a firefly named Sparky living with them. Sparky could not fly, at first (I think he was afraid of heights, or something.), but learned before the end of the series. Their main enemy was Benita Bizare, and her flunkys; Funky Rat, Tweeter, and Woofer. But the Bugaloos also had friends, like Peter Platter, the Grapevine, and Gina Lola Wattage, the rock n' roll firefly. Rock City was near Tranquility Forest, and the Bugaloos visited the city frequently.
The Bugaloos aired on NBC, from 9/12/70 - 9/2/72, and had a total of 17 episodes. It was created by Sid and Marty Krofft, who made shows like, H.R. Puffnstuff, Land of the Lost, and The Krofft Supershow. The show can be currently seen on TV Land's Super Retrovision Saturdaze schedule starting on July 10, 1999.

If Benita would listen, and learn, Harmony would be the one to try and make peace with her. Harmony plays the keyboards and has black hair and brown skin.
Courage: Courage is the brave one. Daring and fearless, he's the one to rush to the rescue first when someone's in trouble. Sometimes (as in the episode, "Courage, Come Home") his daring gets him into trouble. But there is no doubt who the bravest one is. Courage plays the drums and has black hair.
Joy: Joy is the female member of the group. She is cheerful and happy, the first to cheer you up when you are sad. Joy plays the tamborine and has brown hair.
Benita Bizare: Benita is a rock witch who is jealous of the Bugaloos' talents. She endlessly plots to kidnap the group, or steal their talents.

Tweeter & Woolfer: Two of Benita's henchmen, they were almost identical, except that Tweeter was tall, while Woofer was very short. They were none too bright, and were easily fooled.
Funky Rat: Funky Rat was Benita's chauffurr and all-around head henchman. He had a German accent.
Peter Platter: Peter Platter is the DJ of Station KOOK in Rock City. He is good friends with the Bugaloos, and is always happy to play their songs. Peter gets around on roller skates. He has records for eyes, and a record for the inside of his mouth.
Gina Lola Wattage: Gina Lola Wattage, a.k.a., The Flaming Firefly of Rock, is an old friend of Joy's, a friend of the Bugaloos, and Sparky's "girlfriend".
Magico, the Magnificent: Magico is a magician friend of the Bugaloos. He specialty is hyptnosis. He once hyptnotized Sparky into thinking that the firefly was brave. Benita captured Magico once and tried to get him to hyptnotize her into thinking she was a great singer.
The Flatheads: These are the inhabitants of Rock City. Benita once ran over them with a steamroller, making them flat. They have been afraid of her ever since. They were represented by black and white drawings on cardboard on the show.
