Yu-Gi-Oh! is a cartoon about a young boy named Yugi that can transform into the King of Games. The King of Games, --also known as Yugi-Yami, or just Yami-- looks like an older, slighty bigger Yugi. The major difference in looks is that Yugi's eyes are large and round, while Yami's eyes are a more triangular. Yugi/Yami has a puzzle called "The Millinum Puzzle" and is a golden pyramid with an "Eye of Horus" design on it. Yugi first became Yami when he solved this puzzle.

The cartoon centers around a trading card game called, Duel Monsters. It is played with Monster, Magic, and Trap Cards, in a deck of at least 40.

I removed the card list because I've been e-mailed about trading or sending cards to people. I do NOT want to trade or sell. I've only just begun to collect the cards.

Instead of a card list, I'm putting in two sets of starter rules, based on what the characters do on the show. These are only slight changes in the current rulebook (which follows --judging from the second season episodes --the Battle City Rules), and may be subject to revision.

Beginer Rules:

  1. You still start with 8000 Life Points. It'll be a real short game if you don't.
  2. You don't need to sacrafice monsters on the field to bring monsters level 5 and higher onto the field.
  3. Ritual Monsters --those that are created through Ritual Cards-- are not allowed, although fustion monsters may be used.
  4. Terrain Cards (Those that you use to change the Arena) are not allowed.

Duelest Kingdom Rules: Same as with the Beginer Rules, but with the following changes:

  1. Ritual Cards are now allowed.
  2. Terrain Cards are now allowed.

I'll keep the Dueling Field diagram for your convinence.

Here is a diagram of the Dueling Field, and a key. The designs on the Dueling Field you get with the Starter Decks are the same as on back of the cards: A swirl design with a black hole in the middle. Except on the Deck Zone, all the designs are pale colors. The Deck Zone is darker and clearer, and has the Yu-Gi-Oh! Trading Card Game logo on it.
