Our Moon is the closest world for we Earthlings to explore. It's battered surface is a visual record of the violence of our early solar system. It is now believed that our moon was created by the collision of a Mars sized protoplanet with the Earth. This was a very fortunate catastrophy, for without our moon, the Earth's climate would be out of control, and life as we know it, would not exist. When you look up at the Moon, be thankful for our beautiful satellite, for we owe it our very existance!
I am only just beginning my Lunar exploration, but I have captured all of my observations in my sketch book, and they are posted below. I hope you enjoy them!
