Chapter 1: History & Mythos
Around 1160, in the middle of a desesperate war, Clan Tremere paid its survival with the blood and souls of mortals and vampires, changed through the thaumaturgical rituals of Goratrix into the infamous Gargoyles. Little did they know they had unlocked part of what some Tzimisce thought to be the secret of Metamorphosis.
By using remains of a tortured Gargoyles, as well as five Kolduns, each mastering one of the five known Koldun Path, the Tzimisce Followers of Drakul created the creatures known a Drakul. This mighty vampire dragon, with six heads would spawn an army of Dragon Warriors. Little did they know this new Bloodline, known as the Drakul, would be an infertile failure...
The Birth of the Followers of Drakul
Few centures after the birth of the Nailed God, five Tzimisce Koldun, among the most powerful, studied the possibility that the Metamorphosis was out of reach not because of lack of research, but of lack of vision. They theorized Metamorphosis could perhaps not be achieved alone, but needed the merging of near-perfect intellects in near perfect bodies.
Until the Tremere-Tzimisce war, they were simply ignored as fools, or perhaps as deranged vampires by the few Tzimisce who knew of their project, among them mighty Dracon. When the first Gargoyles appeared and almost reversed the war tide, the Followers of Drakul understood thir mistake: They believed the Opposing Elements of Koldun to circle around the Force of Spirit, but now they knew one element had always escaped their notice, so focused they were by their complex theories: Vitae.
Thus, revewing all their Rituals, and correcting the mistaken principles, they discovered around 1170 the Rituals which would enable the five Kolduns to reach their Metamorphosis.
The Ritual of Drakul
The Ritual was said to have lasted for 15 years. By using Vicissitude, as well as Koldun Rituals cast by themselves and their Apprentices, and few negligibles material components (a few peasant villages populations, as well as a few captured Gargoyles), they finally reach the apex of the casting. The Kolduns and the Gargoyles merged together and forever into a stone-like giant-sized egg. Two years later, the egg broke to let a castle-sized full grown six-headed dragon.
Drakul, as it was the name the new entity chose for itself, needed now six near-perfect mortals. Taken among the best of the youth of the Tzimisce Ghoul families, they were drained of their blood, and drank the Drakul's Vitae. Then, to achieve the Ritual, each of them was swallowed by one head, and spent almost one year in the elemental bowels of the Drakul. Emerging as mineral, colored human-sized eggs, the Metamorphosis made them evolve for months, under the careful eye of the Drakul. Then, one after each other, the eggs broke open.
None recognized the young Revenants when the creatures, majestuous winged humanoids, emerged from the eggs...
