Cloudy, eastern  England showers Activity restricted by weather. Many German reconnaissance flights. Raids on Dover, Portsmouth, Southampton and Pembroke Dock. 
Night: Small raids on Sheffield, Wolverhampton, Nottingham, Hull, Leicester, Derby, Bristol and Southampton

August 20th
Most places rain and cloud, fine over Channel Attack on Dover balloon barrage. Manston, West Mailing and Eastchurch airfields hit. Convoys off Welsh and East Anglian coasts attacked. 
Night: Bombers over south-west England

August 21st
Rain and cloud Before noon 50 barrage ballons shot down at Dover. Debden, Eastchurch and Detling airfields attacked. Biggin Hill and Hornchurch airfields badly damaged in the afternoon. All raids were roughly handled by RAF fighters. Grimbsy, Canterbury, Norwich, Bournemouth, Southampton and Newmarket bombed. 
Night: Small raids on Firth of Forth, Hull and Harwich

Rain squalls and cloud Manston airfield bombed. Dover bombed. Shipping in Channel attacked. 
Night: Airfields bombed at Manston, North Coates, St. Eval and Wick. Aircraft factory at Filton bombed. Convoy attacked at Wick

August 23rd
Showers, cloudy, some bright patches Tangmere, Biggin Hill and Abingdon airfields lightly attacked. Portsmouth, Maidstone, St. Albans and Cromer visited by bombers. Convoys off Norfolk and Essex coasts attacked. German bombs jettisoned by mistake over London residential areas. 
Night: Pembroke Dock and factories in the Midlands attacked

Showers in north, fine in south Manston airfield heavily damaged. Further attacks on Hornchurch, North Weald, Ramsgate, Portsmouth and Dover. 
Night: Northern England and SE England visited by 170 bombers. Again, by mistake, bombs fall on London

August 25th
Fair becoming cloudy In the mid-afternoon Warmell airfield badly damaged. West of England, the Scilly Isles and Pembroke Dock bombed. Heavy raids on Thames Estuary and Dover. 
Night: South Midlands, south Wales, south England and Montrose airfield in Scotland attacked

August 26th
Channel cloudy, most of Britain also Late morning Biggin Hill and Kenley airfields,  Folkstone and Dover balloon barrage attacked by over 150 aircraft. Six RAF sqns meet and scatter raids. In afternoon more than 100 enemy planes attempt to bomb Hornchurch and North Weald airfields. Raid turned back by RAF fighters but Debden airfield severely damaged. Another 150 plane raid intercepted. Portsmouth, Biggin Hill, Kenley, Debden and Warmell attacked. 
Night: Bournemouth, Coventry, St. Eval and Plymouth bombed

Dover Straits hazy, rain Midlands and east Luftwaffe reconnaissance flights. 
Night: South and south-east England visited by bombers

Generally fair to fine, Dover Straits cloudy Rochford and Eastchurch bombed. German fighter sweeps over the Thames Estuary and Kent engaged by RAF. 
Night: 150 bombers attack Derby, Manchester, Liverpool, Birmingham, Coventry, Sheffield and London

Bright intervals between rain Light raids on south and south-east England 
Night: 130 bombers attack Liverpool

August 30th
Fair over Britain, Channel fine Diversionary attacks on shipping in Thames Estuary. In morning three raids damage Biggin Hill.  RAF had sixteen sqns up in defence. In afternoon raids on Kenley, Biggin Hill and Shoreham airfields. Rye, Pevensey, Dover, Foreness, Beachy Head, Forelight and Whitsable radar stations rendered unserviceable. At 4.00pm, Biggin Hill and North Weald airfields attacked. Airfields at Oxford, Luton and Debden damaged. Biggin Hill attacked again by 10 enemy aircraft at 6.00pm. 
Night: London, Liverpool and south Wales bombed. Single plane attacks on airfields in the south.

August 31st
Dover Straits hazy, elsewhere fair Radar stations at Rye, Pevensey, Beachy Head, Foreness and Whitstable damaged. Dover balloon barrage destroyed. North Weald, Hornchurch, Biggin Hill, Croydon and Detling airfields attacked. Debden airfield hit by 100 bombs. 
Night: Liverpool badly damaged. Bristol, Manchester, Portsmouth, Durham, Gloucester and Worcester bombed

September 1st
Fine More attacks on airfields. Eastchurch, Detling, Biggin Hill, Lympne and Hawkinge all attacked. Docks at Tilbury and Dover bombed. 
Night: Sheffield, Liverpool, Hull, Grimsby and Burton attacked

Fine, Dover Straits hazy Airfields at Biggin Hill, Rochford, North Weald, Debden, Eastchurch, Hornchurch, Kenly, Digby and Detling attacked. Aircraft factory at Brooklands bombed. 
Night: Liverpool and Birmingham bombed. Mines laid off Welsh coast
