Have Gun Will Travel reads the card of a man.

Richard Boone was and will always be "Paladin" . No one else could have played that part. He was dressed all in black when he was the 'Gun for Hire' and dressed like a proper San Fransico Gentleman at all other times. He would sit in the hotel waiting area and  read newspapers from all over the country. When he would read an article about someone who was in trouble of some kind, he would send them his calling card.  It was a simple card reading "Have Gun Will Travel  wire Paladin SanFrancisco. "  For all those born after 1965, the word "wire" meant for them to use the telegraph to contact him. I am not putting your age group down, its just that the word "wire' isn't used much and I wanted to clarify that.
It was first telecast  on September 14, 1957 and ran until September 21, 1963.
