There is the same equipment: big size tyres with big lugs, on/off full wheel drive, low gear, locking wheel/axial differentials, screened electrical equipment, windlass, power steering, central tyre pressure control system ;-) Cab-forward design, 2 seats cab. Payload 4,410 lbs plus the same weight trailer. Powered by 4- cylinder turbo-diesel engine, displacement 4,156 cc. Output: 115 hp @ 2,600 rpm. Torque 282 ft.-lb. @ 1,500 rpm. 5x2 gears. Brakes: drums, with hydraulic control. Wheel base 10'9.9". Full weight: 14,000 lbs. Tyres 305R18, pressure 39.8 p.s.i.(controlled). Fuel tanks: 2x28 gal.
There's civil variant - GAZ-66-21.
Front wheels are single-tyred. Tyres are smaller size. No windlass, no remote tyre pressure control, no 2nd gas tank.
