THE AIR SHOW

An American aviator, during World War II.

These photos were taken on Sunday, July 23, 2000 at the air show that was held at the Westair facility, at the Westchester County Airport (HPN), in White Plains, New York, from July 21st to 23rd. Admission for the event was free, but 3 dollars bought a walk-in tour of a He-111, and 350 dollars bought a ride on the B-17 that was there. Both aircraft were part of the Arizona Wing of the Confederate Air Force, which is now known as the Commemorative Air Force and is a non-profit organization that is dedicated to the preservation of World War II aircraft. The show also had many exhibits of American and German World War II weapons, and equipment, and several American World War II trucks, jeeps, and M-3 armored personnel carriers were also present.
