Buffy Summers is The Slayer, one girl in all the world with the power to battle vampires, demons and other terrible creatures. As a teenager, Buffy moved to Sunnydale, a town in California that sits on a Hellmouth. The Hellmouth is a closed portal to a demon dimension. Even though closed the Hellmouth is still the center of demon activity and has kept Ms. Summers quite busy for the past few years.
Aided by her friends Willow, Xander and the rest of the "Scooby Gang" as well as by Giles, the Watcher sent to train her and help her hone her abilities, she keeps Sunnydale and the world safe from destruction. It's not an easy job. It keeps her busy every night, doesn't pay very well and is pretty tough on her social life. But it's her destiny and, oh yeah, she's died 2 or 3 times in the line of duty. But she's stopped counting by now.
