Bio
Formed in the summer of 2000 by Mitch Petiprin and Steve Irwin. Frustrated by the monotany of the Flint local music scene decided to form a band combining the best elements of hardcore, groove, death, black, thrash, and gore metal.

At the time, Mitch was playing bass, he recruited Drew Pickett on the guitar and started writing songs at Drew's apartment. Next, joined Ross Mead on the drums. The quartet practiced in Ross's garage. Everything went smooth until Steve became vocal about creative differences. Racing also became an issue with Steve, giving up required practice time to race.

The band decided to move on and became frustrated with finding a vocalist. So then, Mitch moved up to vocals leaving the band without a bassist.

At that point, Dean Henderson was recovering from a disaster with his his death/thrash band that turned rap-core. Coming out of that, he was approached to play bass for Skin Casket.

Soon after that, Steve came back, instead of dismissing him, they decided to try the two vocalist approach.  The result, a band with just the right amount of death metal and hardcore......

Months went by and Skin Casket decided to hire a second guitarist so we hired Ross' long-time friend Ryan Wood.  Ryan became familiar with the songs and started adding his own edge to them.  Soon Skin Casket was ready to hit the local scene as a six-piece.

Trouble soon brewed as six opinions collided.  Steve wanted to make Skin Casket a safer, softer band to make it easier promotable.  As to not follow the trend, we decided to play heavier, faster, harder songs.  This, to say the least, did not sit well with Steve and problems started to surface.  A series of meetings were held and the decision was made to continue the band once more without Steve.

Shortly after, the band entered the studio to record the new "Blackness Bleeds" e.p.  The disc contains the songs "The Kingdom Within", "The Blackness Bleeds", and "Media Cesspool (We're Pissing On All of Your Standards)".

Soon after, Skin Casket parted with Ryan Wood for business reasons.  Skin Casket will remain a four-piece for the time being........
