Update 8 @ 13/07/06

I bet you thought I'd got lost! Due to my landlord changing hands and the subsiquent property improvements which are still on going.I have not been able to do a great deal with the layout itself. However I have come to a decision regarding the DCC method.

Having finally obtained a booklet from Lenz (L90102)@£2.50 with sufficient information and price list to make plans and decisions. I went and purchased their COMPACT Starter set £175.00 (enough to upgrade 2 trams and six points, controller/programmer and transformer).

After a comprehensive read of the Manuals two Corgi railcoaches were modified.I still have not got round to point switching as my magic wand is just as convenient for the present but intend to soon. Another transformer having already been purchased for the task.

Programming took some getting used to as the key combinations are reminicent of ZX81 days, but don't be put off the keypad isn't. If you can afford the full digital keypad models I assume this will become easier. But it is well worth getting to grips with.

No more 3/4 power just to get movement, but smooth realistic start and stoops with adjustable braking that looks right. I have so far converted 9 Blackpool cars mainly pantographs so far with minimum problems. So far trolley versions are proving less co operative due to contact surface/pressure on the wire. I will report back on this in due course.

I am currently investigating a method of computerising the controller for the future but wrestling with railway software without physical connection to the system is awkward to say the least. E-mail if you can assist or require more info.

Update 9 ........>>>>> (anyone’s guess?)
