"NO DOCTRINE"?
Preach the word; be instant in season, out of season; reprove, rebuke, exhort with all longsuffering and doctrine. II Timothy 4:2
FALSE SHEPHERDS SAY THEY HAVE "NO DOCTRINE" TO DECEIVE THE FLOCK
Most everyone wants peace; wants arguments to stop. And no one disputes the fact that different doctrines bring disagreements; sometimes heated disagreements. While attempting to prevent arguments by denying you have any doctrine at all might seem to be a quick solution to this problem, but is it really true to say you "have no doctrine"?
No, it is not. The fact is, when any person speaks about Christianity on any point, the point is based upon a type of Doctrine. The Church is that old. In nearly 2,000 years of Church history there is basically nothing which has not been covered.
ANSWERING THE STATEMENT "WE DO NOT FOLLOW A MANS' WORDS"
Here is another attempt at a "quick fix". But is it possible to not follow mans' words? If so, we cannot listen to them for they would have us follow THEIR WORDS on the subject, and THEIR WORDS are "mans' words" also. They have disqualified themselves from speaking on the subject! Here we see how ludicrous this statement is, for indeed their statements are ludicrous. Let us look at the Scripture:
JESUS CHRIST WAS AND IS ALSO A "MAN"
Our opponents would cry "foul" here[1], but Scripture declares that Jesus, in His humanity was truly a man. His humanity was in no way mingled with His Deity. This is the Doctrine of the Dual Nature of Christ set forth at the Council of Chalcedon in 451 A.D. So if we went by what they say and cannot accept a "mans' words" then we should not accept Jesus when He spoke from His humanity saying, "I thirst"?
DO THEY RECITE THE APOSTLES' CREED?
Most Churches today recite the Apostles' Creed. The Apostles' Creed contains within it many Doctrines which were developed to identify and combat Gnosticism so that future generations would still have a Church. Where do these "teachers" of yours think they got the Apostles' Creed? Out of thin air? Are we expected to believe these "teachers" thought all these things up on their own? Indeed, would they seek to take credit for vast amounts of wisdom developed by the Church in Councils and Synods, but not give one ounce of recognition to any of them and expect persons to elevate THEM as "authorities" instead? Here is the plain deceit of the "I don't preach any doctrine to you" hypocrites revealed.
Away with this nonsense and those that teach it!
THEN WHAT ABOUT HEBREWS 6?
In Hebrews 6, we see that believers are supposed to MOVE PAST the Doctrines listed here. Do these "teachers" with "no doctrine" mean to tell you they have not even progressed to be able to teach the Doctrines of Hebrews 6?
Saying they have "no doctrine", they deny they are able to teach the doctrines set forth in Hebrews 6 which you are required to know and understand before you can move on. Why? Simply because they do not KNOW any Doctrines to teach by their own admission!
In telling you they have "no doctrine" therefore, they admit they cannot teach YOU any! If the have NONE, what about the Doctrines you MUST learn according to Hebrews 6 BEFORE you can mature? If they have NONE, they surely can't teach you any!
Would they have you be permanently spiritually immature? If you listen to them, you will be unable to progress Spiritually because you simply have no Doctrine at all, and they cannot teach you because they admit they have none!
THEY CANNOT REPRESENT ANY CHURCH
Persons who say they have "no doctrine" cannot be truly representing any Church because all Churches are founded upon Doctrines whether they admit it or not.
We are sure any Church they "claim" to be affiliated with would be very surprised to learn that anyone supposedly "representing" them said they had "no doctrine"! Perhaps these "teachers" just didn't have the time to learn any? Or could they be ashamed of it? Who knows?
Don't be deceived by their clever words young Believer, they DO have doctrines, they are just not telling YOU what they are. Don't be taken in by such silliness.
