HOW FALSE SHEPHERDS TRY TO DECEIVE THE WHOLE CHURCH
For there shall arise false Christs, and false prophets, and shall shew great signs and wonders; insomuch that, if it were possible, they shall deceive the very Elect. Matthew 24:24
Yeshua (Jesus) Warns us that the enemy of all the Churches is the Deceiver who Deceives by means of False Teaching. Below are some Deceptions used by False Shepherds to attempt to Deceive "if it were possible" even the very Elect.
I have not written unto you because ye know not the truth, but because ye know it, and that no lie is of the truth. I John 2:21
And the Apostle Paul wrote:
Lie not one to another, seeing that ye have put off the old man with his deeds; Colossians 3:9
WHAT ABOUT PERSONS WHO DISTORT CERTAIN PASSAGES OF THE BIBLE TO DECEIVE AS IF IT IS "OK"?
For many deceivers are entered into the world, who confess not that Jesus Christ is come in the flesh. This is a Deceiver and an Antichrist. II John 1:7
The Apostle John here identifies Deceivers with Antichrists. This does not "automatically exempt" a Deceiver just because they say, "Jesus Christ is come in the flesh", either, as some would like you to believe. In fact, some deceivers would like very much for you to believe that! Experienced "religious deceivers" may quote this passage to "prove they are not deceiving you", when in fact, they are trying to do just that in whole other areas or teachings!
Some may even be Deceived themselves and not recognize it. [1]
