DOMINIC'S '69 350SS BLAZER

Blazer update*

These are photos of my cayman green '69. Serial # BKE149.S....Due to conflicting information on serial #'s from chevy all that can be taken from the serial is that it is 4wd "K", V8 "E" and built in '69 "9" I Do know that it was built in St Louis and first sold in August of '69. Production # info varies, anyone know for real? When I bought it, someone had cut the roof and installed a pop up camper. I didn't buy the camper and rolled home having spent $1700. I was damn lucky that someone was selling a $400 '72 top THAT DAY or I'd still be looking for a full roof. it was a CST and is slowly evolving into my own vision of a 350SS Blazer. Rebuilt 350 V8 motor,(bored out 060) rebuilt 350TH tranny, New Eddelbrock 4bbl, K&N filtercharger, new cooling system, new brakes, (that's fortunate!) ARE-23 wheels hold the rubber, and low profile Bfg's are on the way.

Here's where I loose all the die hards; I am going to lower it, and go 2wd. A DISGRASE TO BLAZER OWNERS EVERYWHERE! The idea is to make this thing handle turns faster with less body roll. Its mine and I'm not going to sell it EVER (sorry Renee) so there! Nyah Nyah Nyah!!

On the inside, my father and I installed Mustang GT seats and a '77 Blazer bench, all to be recovered in tan cloth. We made a red Mahogany stained ash plywood locking center console to house the AM/FM casette, CB/PA and a nifty 10 disc CD changer. We also made matching rear panels for the back. The console lid is padded black vynyl to match the door pannels. The dash is pretty stock origional: saddle paint, GM delco AM pushbutton, Only a Grant wood and aluminum steering wheel was added. This car will go 100 no problem and holds turns great. Sorry Mom and Dad.

*Blazer Update

My Blazer will be undergoing some major suspension work this summer I'm going 2wd, sorry all. Im a short guy that's it (I wish). The Blazer's Center of gravity is just too high for me. I also was in an accident where the Blazer spun under heavy braking and my driver's rear tailight was accosted by a honda civic. Even though it is just the end of the fender this means the WHOLE rear panel must be repainted. If I get the chance I'm going to put a gas door in because the frenched cap dosen't work that well. The bumper got a bit warped too. With a lower center of gravity wider tires and discs in the front I hope to prevent this sort of thing in the future. Also in the works electric cooling fan to prevent overheating in traffic. P-locks and P-windows too. New center console, and the unlikely possibility of AC.
