Ok...so you are now brave enough to drink Absinthe. How about trying a few of the following Absinthe based mixed drinks and shooters...then, go check your self into a rehab center.

By the way, I have a lot more recipes to add in but need to research them to make sure they taste good before I put them on my web site.


 

Absinthe Cocktail #1 - This recipe is the classic method of serving Absinthe.

  • Ice cold water

  • 1 or 2 Sugar cubes (use Raw Sugar if available)

  • 2 ounce of Absinthe

In a tall footed glass, pour the Absinthe. Lay an Absinthe spoon across the top of the glass and place a sugar cube on it. Slowly pour the ice water over the sugar to dissolve it into the drink, the slower the better. When you have added the desired amount of water, drop the remaining sugar into the glass and stir with the absinthe spoon.


 

Absinthe Cocktail #2

  • 1 Ounce of Absinthe

  • 3 Dashes of Benedictine

  • 2 Dashes of Bitters

  • 1 Ounce of Water

Shake well with cracked ice. Strain into cocktail glass.


 

Absinthe Curacao Frappe

  • 1 Ounce of Absinthe

  • 1/2 Ounce of Curacao

  • 1 Teaspoon of Lemon Juice

  • 2 Teaspoons of Orange Juice

  • 1 thin slice of Orange

Stir ingredients and pour over crushed ice in a deep-saucer champagne glass. Add orange slice.


 

Absinthe Eye

  • 1/3 Ounce of peppermint Schnapps

  • 2/3 Ounce of Absinthe

Shake well and pour into cocktail glass


 

Absinthe Flip

  • 1/2 Ounce of Absinthe

  • 1/2 Ounce of Cointreau

  • 2 Teaspoons of Lemon juice

  • 1 small egg

  • 1 Teaspoon of Sugar

  • A Pinch of grated Nutmeg

Shake ingredients well with ice. Strain into a chilled glass. Sprinkle nutmeg on top.


 

Absinthe Margarita #1

  • 2 Ounces of Absinthe

  • Sour mix

  • 1/2 Ounce of Triple Sec

  • Lime juice

  • Wedge of Lime

  • Splash of Tequila

Just substitute absinthe for tequila. Salt the rim, fill glass with ice. Pour in the absinthe and sour mix. Splash in some tequila just to kill the odor and taste of the absinthe. Float the triple sec. Garnish with lime.


 

Absinthe Margarita #2

  • 1 Ounce of Absinthe

  • 1 Ounce of Tequila

  • 1/2 Ounce of Grand Marnier

  • Sour Mix

  • Lime juice

Salt the rim, fill glass with ice. Pour in the ingredients and garnish with lime.


 

Absinthe Mary (like Bloody Mary)

  • 2 Ounces of Absinthe

  • Bloody Mary Mix (spicy tomato juice)

  • 3 dashes of Tabasco sauce

  • 1 Dash of Worcestershire sauce

  • 1 spoonful of horseradish

  • Salt and pepper

Fill cocktail glass with ice. Pour in absinthe and bloody Mary mix. Add the Worcestershire and Tabasco. Salt and pepper it. Add horseradish and blend. Spicy and lethal.


 

Absinthe Nut

  • 1 Ounce of Absinthe

  • 1 Ounce of Frangelico (Hazelnut Liqueur)

Stir over ice, Strain into large shot glass or Serve on the rocks


 

Absinthe Sour

  • 1/4 Ounce of Absinthe

  • 1/2 Tablespoon of Sugar

  • 3/4 Ounce of Lemon Juice

Shake well and pour into cocktail glass


 

Absinthe Suisse #1

  • 2 Ounce of Absinthe

  • One splash of Anisette

  • 1/2 Ounce of White Crème De Menthe

  • One egg white (raw)

Pouring ingredients into a cocktail mixer with ice and shaking vigorously, then strain into a chilled cocktail glass. If you can't find white crème de menthe, use clear crème de menthe (store bought or home made) and add a splash of heavy cream (it's supposed to be white colored). If it is still too strong, add a splash of 7-up.


 

Absinthe Suisse #2

  • 1 1/2 Ounce. of Absinthe

  • 2-3 Drops of of Anisette

  • 2-3 Drops of Orange-Flower Water

  • 1 Teaspoon of White Crème de Menthe

  • 1 Egg White

Shake with ice and strain into a cocktail glass.


 

Airy Fairy

  • 3 Ounce of Absinthe

  • 1 1/2 Ounces of Apfel Korn Schnapps

  • 1 1/2 Ounces of Goldshlager

  • 1/4 Ounce of Monin

  • Cinnamon Syrup

  • Champagne on top

Layer in a shot glass.


 

Atomic Bomb

  • 1 Ounce of Absinthe

  • 1 Ounce of Brandy

Stir and pour into cocktail glass


 

B-52

  • 1/4 Ounce of Absinthe

  • 1/3 Ounce of Bailey's Irish cream

  • 1/3 Ounce of Tia Maria

First add the Bailey's Irish cream, then the Tia Maria, and then carefully the Absinthe: Put the Ounce on fire and drink it with a straw, or you have another choice: When the Ounce is on fire you slap it to extinguish the fire and then you drink it.


 

Black Obituary

  • 1 1/2 Ounces of Blavod Black Vodka

  • Splash of Absinthe

  • Twist of Lemon Peel

  • 1 Large cocktail Olive

Stir with ice and strain into a chilled cocktail glass.


 

Bloody Rat Brain

  • 1 Ounce of Absinthe

  • 1/2 Ounce of Amaretto

  • 1/2 Ounce Bailey's or other Irish cream liqueur

  • Red Grenadine

In a Ounce glass, start with the amaretto. Then using the back of a spoon, dribble the absinthe down the sides of the glass, slowly layering it on top of the amaretto. Using the spoon, slowly pour in the Cream Liqueur, letting it curl into a glob on top of the amaretto. Sprinkle a couple drops of red grenadine on top (It should look vaguely like a small bloody brain.....NOW DRINK UP).


 

Colonial Riot

  • 1 1/2 Ounce of Absinthe

  • 1 1/2 Ounce of vodka

  • 3/4 Ounce of Gomme

  • 3/4 Ounce of fresh Lime Juice

  • A Sprig of Mint

Shake into a high-ball and top with soda and lemonade.


 

Earthquake Cocktail

  • 3/4 Ounce of Absinthe

  • 1 Ounce of Gin

  • 1 Ounce of Bourbon

Shake with ice and strain into a Collins glass.


 

4th Estate Cocktail

  • 4 Dashes of Absinthe

  • 1/3 Ounce of French Vermouth

  • 1/3 Ounce of Italian Vermouth

  • 1/3 Ounce of Gin

Layer in a shot glass.


 

Kamikaze

  • 1 Ounce of Absinthe

  • 1 Ounce of Triple Sec

  • 1/2 Ounce of Roses Lime juice

  • 1/2 Ounce of Mountain Dew

Shake with ice, Strain into a chilled cocktail glass.


 

Knock Out #1

  • 3 Teaspoons of white Crème de Menthe

  • 1 Ounce of Absinthe

  • 1 Ounce of Dry Gin

  • 1 Ounce of French Vermouth

Shake well and pour into cocktail glass


 

Knock Out #2

  • 1/2 Ounce of Absinthe

  • 1/2 Ounce of French Vermouth

  • 1/2 Ounce of Dry Gin

  • 2 Teaspoons of white Crème de Menthe


 

Ladies Cocktail

  • 1 1/2 Ounce of Calvert Extra

  • 2 dashes of Absinthe

  • 3 dashes of Anisette

  • 1 dash of Bitters

Stir well with ice, strain into glass. Serve with piece of pineapple on top.


 

London Fog

  • 1/4 Ounce of Absinthe

  • 1 1/2 Ounce of Gin

Blend on Frappe setting and serve in a highball glass.


 

Maiden's Blush

  • 1/3 Ounce of Absinthe

  • 2/3 Ounce of Dry Gin

  • 1 Teaspoon of Red Grenadine

Shake with ice and strain into a highball glass.


 

Momiesette

  • 3 Ounces of Absinthe

  • 4 Teaspoons of Almond Syrup

  • Mineral Water

Stir over ice. Top with 7-8 Ounces sparkling mineral water in a tall glass.


 

Maranguito

  • 1 Ounce of Absinthe

  • 1 Ounce of Tequila

  • 1/2 Ounce Red Grenadine

Layer the absinthe, then the tequila, then top with the Grenadine syrup.


 

Obituary

  • 1 1/2 Ounce of Gin

  • Dry Vermouth (if desired)

  • Splash of Absinthe

  • 1 Large cocktail Olive

Stir with ice and strain into a chilled cocktail glass.


 

Pedra

  • 1/4 Ounce of Absinthe

  • 1/4 Ounce of Tequila

  • 1/4 Ounce of Vodka

  • 1/4 Ounce of dark Rum

  • 1/4 Ounce of Bailey's Irish cream

  • 1/4 Ounce of Red Grenadine syrup

First put the tequila, then the vodka, then the black rum, then the Bailey's Irish Cream, then the Grenadine syrup and then mix this five elements so that the drink become pink, to finish add the Absinthe using a spoon. Light the shot on fire and drink it with a straw.


 

Port and Absinthe

  • 3 Ounces of Tawny Port

  • Splash of Absinthe

Stir and serve in a port glass.


 

Quaaludes and Absinthe

  • 1 Ounce of Absinthe

  • 1 Ounce of Bailey's Irish Cream Liqueur

  • 1 Ounce. of Frangelico (Hazelnut Liqueur)

Stir over ice, Strain into large Shot glass or Serve on the rocks.


 

Round Robin

  • 1 Ounce of Absinthe

  • 1 Egg White

  • 1 Tablespoon of Sugar

  • 1 Ounce of Brandy

Shake with ice and strain into a wine glass.


 

Sazerac Absinthe

  • 1 Teaspoon of Sugar

  • 1 1/2 Ounce of Rye whiskey

  • 1 Dash of Absinthe

  • 2 dashes of Peychaud bitters

  • 2 dashes of Angostura bitters

  • 1 Lemon peel twist

  • Crushed Ice

Chill an Old Fashioned glass by filling with crushed ice. In another glass mix the sugar with the bitters dissolving the sugar. Add some ice, stirring to chill. In the Old Fashioned glass remove the ice and pour in the absinthe coating the entire glass. Remove the excess absinthe. Add the Rye Whiskey and bitters/sugar mixture. Add the Lemon Twist.


 

Sea Fizz

  • 1 1/2 Ounce of Absinthe

  • 1/2 of a Lemon, Juiced

  • 1 Teaspoon of Sugar

  • 1 Egg White

  • Seltzer Water

Shake with ice and strain into a highball glass and fill with seltzer.


 

T N T Cocktail

  • 1 Ounce of Absinthe

  • 1 Ounce of Cognac

  • 1/2 Ounce of Cointreau

  • Dash of Bitters

Stir with ice and strain into a cocktail glass.


 

Voodoo Pigalie

  • 1/2 Ounce of Absinthe

  • 1/2 Ounce of Midori

  • 1/4 Ounce of Greene Chartreuse

  • A dash of Gomme

Stir with ice and strain into a salted OR sugar rimmed glass.


 

Voodoo Shooter

  • 1 Ounce of Absinthe

  • 1 Ounce of Myers Rum Cream

  • 1 Ounce of Tia Maria

Layer in exact order into a Shot glass.


 

Fox Poison

  • 3 Ounces chartreuse

  • 3 Ounces absinthe

  • 1 Ounce Green Curacao

  • milk

Build in highball glass. Stir and fill up with ice cold milk.


 

Head Shock

  • 1 Ounce Tequila

  • 2 Ounces Absinthe

Just pour into a shooter glass.


 

Inferno

  • 2 Ounces Absinthe

  • 1 lime in wedges

  • 1 Ounce of Simple Syrup

  • fresh mint leaves

Muddle the ingredients in a rocks glass. Add crushed ice.


 

Traffic Light

  • 2 Ounces of cranberry juice

  • 1 Ounce of orange juice

  • 1 Ounce of Absinthe

Pour carefully into a cocktail glass half filled with ice.


 

Corrida

  • 1 Ounce Absinthe

  • 1 Ounce vodka

  • 1 can Red Bull

Shake ingredients with ice and strain into ice filled Collins glass.


 

Death Commando Of Love

  • 2 Ounces Absolut Citron

  • 1 Ounce Drambuie

  • 1 Ounce Absinthe

  • Top up with Red Bull

Garnish with lime and serve on ice.


 

Green Tear

  • 1 Ounce of Absinthe

  • 2 Ounces of cranberry juice

  • 1 Ounce of Indian tonic water

  • 1 slice of lemon

Shake well and pour into a cocktail glass.


 

Halloween Slash

  • 1/2 Ounce of lemon liqueur

  • 3 Ounces  of cranberry juice

  • 1/2 Ounce of peach vodka

  • 1 Ounce of Absinthe

  • 1/3 Ounce of orange juice

Pour carefully into a cocktail glass half filled with ice.


 

Asinthe Bollyside

  • 1 Ounce of Absinthe

  • 1/2 Ounce of Jack Daniels

  • 1/2 Ounce of gin

  • 1/4 of Archers Peach Schnapps

  • 1 Ounce of Red Bull

  • Drop of cranberry juice.

Shake ingredients with ice and strain into ice filled Collins glass.


 

Wharf Rat

  • 1 Ounce of white rum

  • 1 Ounce of Grenadine

  • 1 Ounce of Absinthe

  • 1 Ounce of Apricot brandy

  • 3 Ounce of orange juice

Mix with crushed ice and top it up with absinthe.


 

Write Like Hemingway

  • 1 Ounce Absinthe

  • Champagne

Pour absinthe into flute glass over ice. Top up with champagne.


Moulin Rouge

  • 2 Ounces Peach Schnapps

  • 1 Ounce Absinthe

  • 1/4 Ounce Grenadine

Top up with Energy drink. Garnish with mint tips and serve on ice.


 

Desire

  • 1/4 Ounce Absinthe

  • 1/2 tablespoon Sugar

  • 3/4 Ounce Lemon juice

Shake well and pour into cocktail glass.


 

Absinthe Minded

  • 3 Ounces Bombay Sapphire Gin

  • 1/2 Ounce Absinthe

  • 1/2 Ounce Grand Marnier

  • 1/2 Ounce Dry Vermouth

  • 1 orange peel

Properly chill 1 cocktail glass. In mixing glass with ice, pour gin and absinthe, and stir. In your cocktail glass, roll 1/2 oz of dry vermouth and throw away the excess. Strain other ingredients into cocktail glass and float 1/2 oz of grand Marnier over top. Garnish with orange peel.


 

Big Shimmy-bool

  • 1 Ounce Crème de Mure

  • 1 Ounce Absolut Mandrin

  • 1 Ounce champagne

  • 1 Ounce Absinthe

Pour carefully into a cocktail glass half filled with ice.
