Mid-Autumn
Festival
The Mid-Autumn Festival is another very important holiday in the Chinese culture. On the Mid-Autumn Festival, Chinese families always have a family dinner, with every member of the family returning home. The dinner must include certain dishes. Also, moon cakes are eaten. Children also enjoy this festival a lot because they can play with lanterns. They would run around on the streets with their lanterns at night. Lanterns come in many shapes, colours, and sizes, making them not only fun to play with, but good to look at.

Did you know? Every year the Mid-Autumn Festival takes place on a different day when using the Gregorian Calendar ( the one generally used today ), because the Lunar Calendar, which the Chinese use, counts days differently.
