Introduction

The TenTen series is big, so why not make Pinkys out of the female characters?  Hence, we have another collaboration project using the three main female characters from the series.  Aya Natsume is the first Pinky to start The Greatest Tag Boxxx!!!!! project.  I actually brought this Pinky at Iwase about a day or two after the release in Japan.  A bit pricey for it, but reasonable since it was an imported product.  I believe this Pinky was available in limited numbers.

Some of the pictures aren't clear & good.  If I have time, I'll redo the bad ones & repost them.

Aya Natsume Pinky out of the box

Although the box is kind of cheap using brown cardboard, I like it for some reason.  The drawings of Aya Pinky is cute, but deadly in a way.  On the left side of the box, you see the project name & three pairs of feet.  If you buy Boxes 2 & 3 & stack it together with Box 1, it forms a drawing of Aya, Maya, & Izumi.  It's a nice touch really if you plan to display the Boxes.  In case you are wondering, the drawing of the girls is the same one you see on the right side of the front of the Box.

Included in the Box are the Aya Pinky, a katana & its sheath, goggles, an extra body (a school uniform), a bowtie for the school uniform, a display base, eight postcards (six are just drawings from past sexy works of Aya & the other two are new drawings of Aya Pinky), & a booklet.  The booklet has 17 pages containing mix & match combinations for Aya, an interview with Tenjho Tenge creator Oh! Great, ads of other normal Pinky figurines & Tenjho Tenge mangas, plus an ad for Box 2.  Quite a nice package at a decent retail price.

Aya in street clothing with full gear from different sides

This is your standard type of Pinky pose you would normally see.  Aya's hair is really long & I think this is the first Pinky that has hair that long.  Goes all the way down to her feet.  Because of this, you need to use the display base to hold her up cause of the hair's weight.

The display base is pretty nice.  The flames there really matches the red jumpsuit Aya has.

That's one big belt!

I like that red jumpsuit & the way it is presented.  The accessories on the clothing are really great.  I really like the goggles too.  I think it's pretty cool.  There are times though the goggles won't stay on to the position I want it in.  You have to bend the sides a bit to make it fit.  The whole getup has a ghetto feeling to it.  The only thing missing is a bad ass bike to seal the deal.  However, it's a shame you don't get to see some of the other nice details of it due to Aya's long hair.  Here's what it looks like without Aya's hair in the way.

I didn't know there was other stuff on the back of the jumpsuit until I removed Aya's head.  The flame mark on her boot , the star on the back of the jacket & the big symbol on the back.  Those really add more to the jumpsuit.  I'm not sure if the big symbol is a drawing logo or words.  I can't really make them out.

There is a problem with the katana.  Although it has some great painting & details done on it, the peg system is pretty bad.  The katana breaks into three parts: the handle, guard, & blade/sheath.  Many people have reported that the sword doesn't stay intact.  The blade & sheath falls off the handle.  I have this problem with my Aya Pinky as well.  I think the peg on the blade & sheath isn't long enough to reach the handle since the guard is in-between them.  Another problem is the handle comes off from Aya's hand at times.  Because of this, I try to seldom play around with the katana.  Also, Aya's long hair prevents the katana to be held with the blade & handle in front.  It must be held sideways.  It looks a bit funny at times since you don't see people hold a sword like that, but I got used to it.

Aya in her school uniform

I think this school uniform is different from the past Pinky ones.  The uniform is pretty plain, but school uniforms aren't meant to be fashionable to wear as normal wear.  Although Maya & Izumi will also have the same school uniform, there is actually a difference for all three uniforms.  The differences are the shoes, socks, & feet position.  Aya has black shoes with dark blue socks pulled straight up.

????

When I saw the pic of Aya's face on the first ad on the web, I thought it looked kind of weird.  I was hoping when the actual figurine comes out it didn't have that face.  Unfortunately it did.  I can't make out her expression.  It looks like she's mad, but confused at the same time.  It almost looks like she's spacing out too.  The paint job is great & all, but I have no idea what that facial expression is.  It's probably because of her eyes.

Overall Conclusion

Aya Natsume is a great Pinky to start off The Greatest Tag Boxxx!!!!! project.  Lots of accessories than any Pinkys I've seen so far and the included materials are great.  I have been displaying Aya in her jumpsuit most of the time & hardly touch her katana gear.

I give this Aya Pinky a nine out of ten.  The high score comes from the accessories & the jumpsuit.  The lost point comes from the katana issue & the unknown facial expression she has on.

If you are a TenTen or Pinky fan, I recommend getting Aya.  Getting the Aya Pinky will be hard.  I have seen it pop up again after the release of Box 3.  I don't think those are reissued.  I think they are leftover stock.  Now, there is some demand for this Pinky again.  But the price hasn't shot up a lot.  It's still hard, but not too expensive.
