Pinky: St

Created by VANCE Project & BABY Sue, Pinkys are small figurines that you can customize. They include clothing, hair, & accessories. The theme of Pinky is "the girl next door" using Japanese pop-culture fashion trends. They are about 4" tall & made of PVC-like material. There are two product lines of the Pinky series: Pinky St. & Pinky Cos. Pinky St. is the basic normal product line while Pinky Cos is a special product line involving Pinky figures "cosplaying" as anime & video game characters.

I used to collect Pinkys & go for the special ones. Although mostly girls collect Pinky outside of Japan, the target market of these figures in Japan are actually guys. Look at the special Pinky products available. They came from anime & game series that are targeted towards guys. I'm assuming men outside of Japan think Pinky are for girls due to the "dressing them up" idea.

Diamond now imports Pinkys to North America, but I stick with the Japanese imports. The price is about the same & I prefer the Japanese markets better. There are bootleg versions out there & recommend you don't buy those. They are made of poor-quality resin & break easily. Also, the paint job is terrible. However if you plan to customize Pinkys, these are good to use.

You may have seen people customizing their Pinkys. They include different body parts or changing them to anime & game characters. Personally, I don't do it cause I like them to keep them in their original forms & customization is a expensive hobby. Currently, the hype has died down a bit even though there are special limited edition ones still coming out.
