Vivek Kapoor was born in New Delhi, India and also lived in Mumbai and the Punjab before moving to the San Francisco Bay Area in 1998. Vivek has worked as an Engineer and Database Administrator, most recently for Excite@Home. He would like to become a technical lead/project manager. Vivek is single and enjoys listening to soft rock music, traveling by train, and reading magazines. He describes himself as enthusiastic, hardworking, straightforward, ambitious, inquisitive, and romantic. He also reports that he does not like to do things half-heartedly.
Vivek joined CH@Home Toastmasters in April 2001 and became CH@Home's VP Membership in January 2002. Vivek loves any topic which involves storytelling. In May 2002, Vivek earned his CTM with his inspirational speech--"Try and Try Till You Succeed!" He followed his own advice by finding a year-long contract job in New Jersey. Vivek remarks about his experience at CH@Home Toastmasters--"I get lots of support and feel encouraged being a member of this club." We'll miss him, but we're sure he'll find an equally supportive club in his new location.
