| About The 5th Va. Co. K The Continental Morgan Guard (5th Va. Co.K) is a family based progressive Civil War reenacting unit. We have members in the Eastern Panhandle of West Virginia, including Morgan, and Berkeley counties; as well as in Frederick County Virginia, Baltimore, MD, Western Pennslyvania, as well as Ontario, Canada. We participate in events in West Virginia, Maryland, Pennsylvania, and Virginia. We try not to travel to events more than two hours from home but do enjoy around two longer trips a year. We are currently members of The Fighting 1st Regiment, and Pridgeon's Shenandoah Legion. Our emphisis is on a campaign infantry impression. We attend and take part in all areas of the hobby ranging from battle reenactments, to living histories, demonstrations, talks, and parades. Who Reenacts And Why? We come from all walks of life, some are doctors, lawyers, teachers, or students, others work in the trades. Whatever the occupation, we all have an interest in the Civil War. Reenactors join the hobby for many reasons. Many do it to relive a turbulent time in our history, others to honor the memory of an ancestor who fought in the war. Whatever the reason, each person who participates does so because of a common interest and a love of their own country.
