The Red Bellied Piranha is one of the most famous species of the Piranha family. It can be seen in a wide variety of documentaries. The best docu I've seen on the fish is "Wolves of the Amazon", recomended. If you know this fish then you know that I have given it the red Rombaos eye, instead of the red bellies original eye. The Rombaos is the largest of the Piranha species and is known for it's menacing red eyes. Originally sculpted out of sculpey clay, I casted one side of the fish and made a couple of reproductions. Then I attached them to a rectangle piece of stone, and painted them. The piece measures 14" x 8", painted with acrylics. This is a one of a kind sculpture, there are no reproductions. |
