Each race button will give you a description of that race and tactics, pictures, and other useful things. With more on the way!

The clash of arms resounds across the battlefield as the mighty forces of Humans, Dwarfs, Elves and other fantastic warriors struggle for survival, domination and glory across the face of the Old World. Warhammer is Games Workshop's premier tabletop fantasy battle game of miniatures combat developed over the last two decades by the hard-working and creative minds of our Design Studio and Citadel Miniatures sculptors.

Now in its sixth edition, Warhammer boasts one of the largest lines of finely crafted and highly detailed 28 mm (about 1 inch tall) miniature soldiers in the world. Combine this with the fantastic artwork and fiction of the Games Workshop Design Team, highly detailed Warhammer Armies books, support in White Dwarf Magazine and on the Games Workshop web site (http://www.games-workshop.com) and legions of dedicated gamers around the world and you will see why Warhammer has become the most popular fantasy miniatures game in history.

Set amidst the lands of the Old World, the Warhammer universe is currently populated by sixteen powerful armies, each with their own unique character and combat capabilities. Creatures such as the mysterious Lizardmen, cruel and soulless Dark Elves and the tough as stone Dwarfs pit their battle hardened armies against the human realms of the Empire, the woodland environs of the Wood Elves or the verminous hordes of the Skaven!

To play a game of Warhammer, each player selects a predetermined number of points worth of troops from the Warhammer Armies book for that race. After designing their armies, the players set up a tabletop battlefield which can range from a kitchen table with a blanket over it to a highly detailed, custom-built wargames scenery board. In a manner similar to chess, each player takes a turn and moves his troops, casts spells from his wizards, shoots missile weapons and fights in brutal hand to hand combat. Injuries, successes and failures of each action the player wishes to take are decided on the roll of handfuls of six-sided dice. The game is over once the proscribed number of turns has passed or victory conditions for the battle are fulfilled (normally this amounts to beating your opponent's army into a shapeless and demoralized mass of panicking rabble).

The heart of the Warhammer Hobby is collecting, painting and gaming with huge armies of incredibly detailed 28mm miniature warriors. Regardless of your skill level, the sight and experience of commanding your painted Warhammer army on the tabletop is a source of pride for gamers of all ages the world over.
