Welcome to the site and home of Des Teufels Mess (the devils mess). Des Teufels mess is a progressive minded American Civil war oriented group that deals with impressions of both Federal and Confederate. Our unit is affialiated withe the Calico Boys who are primarily found along the eastern coast. We are a fairly new organization and always welcome people who share our common goal. The book Germans in the Civil War by Walter D. Kamphoefner and Wolfgang Helbich has currently been translated and put up on the market. It was published previously in 2002, but was only exclusive to our german speaking counterparts. Current reviews suggest that it is an excellent book to read and would be essential to us in helping us build our impressions. The links is.... CLICK
