Albert Richard Douglas Hammond (born 25th February 1925) Worked for the British Ministry Of Defence as a Chief Engineer and was awarded the British Empire Medal in the 1983 Birthday Honours List, for "Services to the People" His working career started at Sheerness Dockyard and when this yard was closed in 1958, he moved to Greenock, Scotland to work in the Port Auxiliary Service on Admiralty water boats. Later he became an Inspector in the Clyde Marine Services Base at Great Harbour. He finished his work career, returning to Kent in 1978, to work in the Chatham Dockyard in the personnel counselling department.

Kathleen Ruth BIRCH (born 12th January 1927 at Grange Cottage, Sellindge, Kent)

Martin Richard Ludwig HAMMOND (born 6th March 1958) Martin worked for the Ministry of Defence, as an apprentice Trainer until he was pysically unable to continue, due to the progression of multiple sclerosis, which has gradually affected much of what he can do. It does not however change his wicked sense of humour.
