Marguerite's Pink Brocade Gown

Costume Description
Pink brocade floor-length gown. Probably one piece with movie ‘cheats.’ Just a hint of a white chemise at neckline and sleeve hem. Empire waist with full skirt pleated evenly into waist. Bishop sleeves gathered at sleeve cap and wrist. Dark trim (sheer with velvet laced through it - see picture #4) around scoop-square neckline and at waist. Worn with large gold diamond-shaped brooch. Marguerite's hair is braided intricately and wrapped around the crown of her head, acting as a headband of sorts (pictures #5-6).

Historical Reference
Thanks to the cosprop.co.uk concept sketches, we know for certain that the vast majority of the costumes in Ever After were inspired by historical paintings, e.g., Danielle's Princess Gown, Danielle's Blue Library Gown, Jacqueline's Green Brocade Gown. We've been able to identify many of the paintings seen in these concept sketches, but since we don't have sketches for each costume, we have to speculate for some. Here is a historical painting with similar elements to Marguerite's Pink Brocade Gown (bodice and belt, and a good example of how two sets of sleeves were worn):

Sacred and Profane Love by Titian, Venice, 1510s (and detail)
