Square was a proud sponsor of a recent event hosted by Mr.
Yoshitaka Amano to announce his new venture into the American
comic book scene with the launch of "Hero: A Legend of the
Future". Mr. Amano recently celebrated the launch of this new
title with a World Premiere Exhibition at the Angel Orensanz
Foundation located in New York City during the month of October
1999. Square was proud to be a part of the excitement
throughout the month, and particularly on the evening of
October 26th with our own Mr. Hironobu Sakaguchi as a featured
speaker on the videogame discussion panel.
The evening began with interview sessions focusing on both Mr.
Amano, character illustrator of FINAL FANTASY ANTHOLOGY, a
compilation of FINAL FANTASY V and VI, and Mr. Hironobu
Sakaguchi, creator of the FINAL FANTASY franchise. Afterwards,
Mr. Amano himself led the group on a tour of his exhibition
 gallery.
Later in the evening, a large gathering of fans and special
guests filled the exhibition hall to its entirety. They situated
themselves in front of a large movie screen, patiently waiting
for a presentation to be given by Mr. Sakaguchi. There were
rumors throughout the night that clips of Mr. Sakaguchi's
latest creation would be shown. The rumors proved true, when
the first ever publicly shown trailer of FINAL FANTASY: THE
MOVIE began. As the presentation came to an end, a well-
deserved and much appreciated standing ovation began.
All guests to the exhibition were extremely impressed by both
Mr. Amano's precious works of art and Mr. Sakaguchi's explosive
 presentation.
The 30-day long exhibition was a huge success. The event
reflected the true scope of Mr. Amano's brilliance through the
many different art forms shown in the gallery. Guests were
intrigued by everything from his concept illustration for the
video game realm to paintings and sculptures representing a
life's creations of one of the most popular and diversified
 artists of our time.
