Michael Flannery's Guide to Roleplaying

A good roleplay consists of;

  • A Good Enterance
  • Input from the commentators
  • A Fair amount of showboating
  • Getting to The Point
  • A bit more showboating
  • A Good Exit

When roleplaying you need to avoid;

  • Short roleplays
  • Using other wrestler without consent
  • Swearing too much
  • Repeating yourself or dragging on
  • Just beating up Announcers etc. for the hell of it
  • Challenging too many people at once

Creating a Good Roleplay

First of all you need A good Enterance this should be between 4 and 7 lines long to do this you should; Talk about the music, fireworks, how he walks to the ring, does he have a manager with him, how do the fans react to him? What is he wearing, Is he posing? Iif so by doing what. If you say things such as that you will have you 7 lines no problems

Now this next point Commentator's input is something that should be done throught the entirity of the roleplay and if done right should account for 10-20 lines. You need to say; what the commentator thinks of your wrestler (think which commentator is a face/heel), what they thinks of who you are challenging and what they thinks of the challenge

Its time do get the crowd pumping this is where you Do a fair amount of showboating take the Rock for example what is the first thing he says? ''Finally The Rock has come back to.....'' this is showboating saying how good you are is showboating. Saying how you beat you last opponent or hoe they got lucky is showboating, when doing this it always does good to include commentator comments and reactions from the crowd (remember they wont cheer for a heel) Showboating should be about 10-15 lines should you do it right

To the most important part Getting to the Point this should be 1 or maybe 2 bulky paragraphs of 10-20 lines. This is where you make you challange, this is where you tell them how you are going to beat them. Try to include Commentators in this but focus on your opponent diss his hometown do whatever you have to do to mentally injure them and to get your match

Back to Showboating and brings me back to the Rock he ends with showboating a little phrase ''If Yaaa Smellll what The Rock is cookin'' you should try to make a catch phrase for your wrestler be as original as possible. Perhaps when closing your speech you could skit a commentator its all showboating this should be about 5 lines long

Now and finally to a Good Exit this should be similar to you enterance without the fireworks and it is also a chance to let the commentator's recap on what you just said

If you follow these rules and guide you should reach 50 lines easily which is a good standard of roleplaying so I hope you learn and hope to see you competing on a high basis here in the Galaxy Wrestling Federation 2K1
