Great Gaming Midis (24-08-2003)

I never thought I would have to count this high(50 - 60)......

1.Mecha

=>From live a live. You think it is something straightforward and simple but it twists and turns flexibly and keeps going strong. Brilliant work. Melodic music with a new feel.

2.Awakening

=> From Xenogears. Starts off with a monotous pattern which fluctuates between dark and light and then we get a fast bridge and a yearning type of chorus which leaves us hanging in the air.

3.Attack

=> From ff10. What an intro. I think this is the best intro i have heard in any game. Its just so diverse and varying. The music doesnt live upto the expectations though but truly great midi. Maybe you need a high quality soundcard to hear it well.

4.Iron Sword

=>A gentle reminder of how powerful cheerful melodic light tones can be if made properly. This song has that little something that makes it memorable without being melodramatic. The simple things in life.

5.Makou Reactor     Lavos  - Lavos Core

=> FF VII had some awesome negative atmospheric music. Here is a good example. The second one is from the epic Chrono Trigger. Both of them are pretty similar in a lot of aspects.

6.Atma

=>From ff6. If you like chromatic (non harmonic music) the intro is just that. There is so much non harmonic stuff going on that when the melody breaks out the effect is tripled. A craftsman at work.

 7.Take up the cross

=>From Tales of Phantasia. Very different from the usual rpg fight music. It starts normally but there is a part after the intro which is pretty good.

8.Status

=>From Rivercity Ransom. I like this game lot. Maybe thats why i like this midi.

9. Dark World

=>From Zelda. Good bass and cover.

10.Magitek     Another version

=>From ff6. Its the best factory music. It suits the theme so perectly that I have posted it here.
