About Our Association
We believe the future of badminton lies in the broadening of the player base and are committed to grow the sport horizontally at the grass root. We also believe that in order to attract players to be part of us, we must be able to offer them tangible benefits.
The majority of the badminton fraternity supports our view and since our inception in 1998, 50 clubs and over one thousand players from all corners of the Sydney Region have joined us, making us a truly regional association.
We provide our affiliated clubs and members with benefits such as Public Liability and Sports Injury Insurances, Junior Encouragement Awards and Club Junior Financial Contributions. Our members also enjoy low cost membership fees, tournament entry fees, discount shuttles and racquets.
We encourage playing groups to form clubs and provide assistance where required. We also encourage clubs with junior players to implement junior training and assist them if requested.
Our proven Junior Program has taken badminton to thousands of school students and many schools now have badminton available as a school sport. We provide badminton coaching and badminton camps to these schools. Such activities lead them to our Annual School Carnival.
Each year, we conduct our Inter Club Competition that runs between April and August, Junior Open, Mixed Team and School Carnival tournaments. Our tournaments are open to members and non-members alike and are vital in drawing into our fold players who are hitherto not associated with any organised badminton activities.
We also help the sport in providing an enquiry service and maintaining a website to keep plays informed of our activities.
