"The Amazing Race"
Saturday, June 7th of 2008
start at 1:00pm, done at 3:30p

I (Sal) wasn't able to be here (was in the cities for family "stuff"), but here was the report: We had about 3 guests and 10 volunteers to listen to an "excellent" guest speaker-Reverend Larry Campbell (see evangelifecenter.com) of Waupaci, Wisconsin. He is a missionary for Special Touch. The recorded offerring was $1.

"17"We have here only five loaves of bread and two fish," they answered. 18"Bring them here to me," he said. 19And he directed the people to sit down on the grass. Taking the five loaves and the two fish and looking up to heaven, he gave thanks and broke the loaves. Then he gave them to the disciples, and the disciples gave them to the people. 20They all ate and were satisfied, and the disciples picked up twelve basketfuls of broken pieces that were left over. 21The number of those who ate was about five thousand men, besides women and children."-Matthew 14

On Saturday, May 5th of 2007-We had about 27 consumers/residents/clients, staff/caretakers, and adult-youth volunteers at this month's event. We sang some old favorites (e.g. "Deep & Wide").

Below are the different activities (not in order) we did throughout the day.

-Arts&Crafts: Fishing Boat
clients and volunteers too made styrofoam boats with colorful construction paper on straws as make-shift sails (see down below)

-Snack Time (w/fish crackers w/ A&W Root Beer-regular or diet)

-Tim (youth pastor of Hossana Worship Center) gives a message on the 5-10,000 fed in Sermon on the Mound from Matthew 14

Games:
-Boat

Styrofoam boats the clients made and then test it on the river (roof gutters)
-Fishing Wheel
volunteers assist clients with the fishing poles to catch a prize
-Digging for the worm (gummy) in the dirt (crackers)
