BACKYARD GARDEN WATERFALL & POND
A GREAT DO-IT-YOURSELF PROJECT
This summer project was well worth the effort. I'm still wondering if I was lucky or unlucky to find all that great stone right on my property.  Almost every rock and boulder you see in these pictures came out of those two holes in the ground that make up the ponds. This was NOT an easy task but it sure did save me a lot of money... ROCKS ARE EXPENSIVE.

I still have plenty of work to do on this water feature.  Lots of planting and some additional landscaping need be done before I can call it finished.  But at least all the heavy work is done.  This is NOT a KOI pond but simply a garden water feature that will eventually have plants in and around it.  The sound of falling water is very relaxing and I can clearly hear it from the back deck on the house. I'm anxious to install some lighting in and around the water fall for some great twilight effects as our summer days get shorter.  I'll be adding more pictures as I continue working on it so come back soon and check in on the progress.  :)
My back yard as we began to clear out some trees and shrubs.
Holes dug and two childrens pools used as liner protection on the bottom of the pools.
Close-up view of main pool and the base rock used for the waterfall.
Starting to line the pool with rocks and boulders
Most rocks are in place except for around the blue sump.  I need to do additional plumbing work for the pump housing in there.
Sitting next to the water is very soothing
A lot of planting is needed to finish this project but the final result should look very nice.
