About Tigger Plugins

I've written some plugins which work with Andreas Mayer's Tigger application. These useful mini-applications allow you to display regularly updated information in your menu bar or a floating window.

Tigger is available to download from here, and requires Mac OS X Panther (or later).

ScriptTickerPro

ScriptTickerPro is a plugin that provides a single interface for collecting a library of AppleScripts which are run on a user-defined schedule. The result of the AppleScript is displayed on the ticker and optionally written to the Console or spoken. You can have multiple scripts, each which maintains its own settings. Scripts can also be disabled and enabled individually, or the entire plugin can be deactivated.

WebcamTicker

WebcamTicker allows you to display a predetermined image in the ticker at regular intervals. You can use a local file or an image from the Internet, allowing you to potentially display a webcam, company logo or weather map on your menu bar.

From Tigger version 1.2 onwards you can also add an action to occur when you click the image in the ticker. Following the above examples, you can add a link to the webcam (for larger viewing), your company site or your local weather forecast.

WebcamTicker also provides multiple display options to suit your desired image.

AutoSizer

AutoSizer automatically places and sizes your ticker to fill the remaining space on your menu bar, so that you can see more of your ticker while you are in the Finder, yet as much as possible in Xcode and none at all in DVD Player.

AutoSizer is a beta release, and uses Mac OS X Panther's Accessibility API. You must turn on Enable support for assistive devices in the Universal Access System Preferences pane.

Updated! AutoSizer now uses a better method to determine when to update the ticker, and allows you to set when and how the ticker should be manipulated on a per-application basis. Please read the Readme for full instructions.
Requires: Tigger version 1.1 or 1.2 only, Mac OS X Panther or later with "support for assitive devices" enabled.

RSSTicker

RSSTicker allows you to display a number of popular RSS newsfeeds in your Tigger ticker bar. It supports RSS 0.91, 0.92, 1.0 feeds (most of them) and provides additional functionality via a context-sensitive menu. Allows access to most features of RSS feeds, and integrates with your web browser and email client to provide access to embedded links. This is my newest and most powerful plugin yet!
