If you are using AOL's browser, (something I really discourage, for goodness sake, go to Netscape and download the newest version of Navigator! You'll thank me. Really) you may have a problem seeing the effect. It is possible that everything else on page will appear but the applet. You may get the message "Loading image", but the images will never appear, just a gray rectangle.

In this case, you have to turn off graphics compression in the AOL internet browser preferences as follows: On the AOL Toolbar, click on "keyword", type Preferences, click on "Internet Properties-WWW", click on the "Web Graphics" tab, and a page appears with the question "Do you want Web Graphics to be compressed. This will display pages faster"; under the question is a box that you "check" if you want compression, otherwise leave it blank. If it is checked, clear it.
