The Pilot episode, first airing August 27, 1993.
After the murder of his father, U.S. Marshal Brisco County, Sr., by evil time traveler John Bly and his gang of outlaws, Brisco County, Jr. goes to work as a bounty hunter to track them down. Hired to protect the interests of the San Francisco Westerfield Club, a group of robber barons, (played by a gaggle of old time TV western stars, including Stuart Whitman, James Drury, and Robert Fuller) Brisco begins his mission, acquiring along the way rival bounty hunter turned sidekick Lord Bowler and dithering, good hearted lawyer Socrates Poole. He also first learns of "The Orb", a mystical object which John Bly will do anything to possess.

Brisco and Soc travel to Jalsico, Mexico to recover stolen guns, and experience a rude shock upon discovering that Pete Hutter is the thief and plans to sell the weapons to a crooked General.

Socrates's Sister, first airing September 24, 1993.
Things become complicated when Soc's lawyer sister, Iphigenia Poole, shows up to defend Jack Randolph, whom Brisco alleges is a member of Bly's gang, while Mr. Randolph pleads mistaken identity.

Brisco escorts a female spy to Mexico via stagecoach for a prisoner exchange, unaware that an assassin lurks behind the disguise of a fellow passenger.

Our heroes attempt to protect and care for a baby, left in their care by Pete Hutter (!), a baby who just happens to be a future Emperor....
